I was watching the US open finals yesterday and it was an excellent match. Federer maintained a calm attitude even when he was in a position to lose set 1 and set 2. He overcame with his attitude and won the 1st 2 sets in tiebreak.
He was attacking and serving aggressively even when he almost lost set 1. The key lesson is we need to keep the pursuit of vision with a good attitude even when things seem not to be moving in the right direction and you will win.

Ralph Marston said, "Excellence is not a skill; it is an attitude." There's no doubt that Federer has excellent tennis skills based upon his physical abilities. However, it was his attitude, the realm of his mind, that kept the vision of winning possible. Henry Ford said it even better, "If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't,you're right." Federer thought he could win even when it appeared he might lose. He persevered and he won. We have to have the same attitude about our visions, dreams, goals. We can accomplish them, even when the odds are against us. And, as a Christian, I know all things are possible with God on my side!

I'm juiced Cyril is a tennis fan!! Regarding the statement of attitudes I agree completely. I played over 3 years of collegiate basketball in various parts of the U.S. and came to realize a few things. One, every city, town has basketball players who have college level skillsets. Two, very few of these individuals actually have the drive and determination to commit to playing for a collegiate team. The reason they don't play or attend school is largely not because of skill but attitude. Within college basketball, the difference between the average Division 1 player and the elite is usually only work ethic and heart.

I relate this with my schooling. I'm approaching the end of my program and sometimes I feel like going to school, working full time, and caring for a family it too much but then I sit and think things thru(clear my head) and I become newly determined.

wow, i do believe that we "need to keep the pursuit of vision with a good attitude even when things seem not to be moving in the right direction and you will win." I believe it is important to keep the vision standing even though we might think that it will never happen. We need not to give uo, but to persist in our dreams and never let go of what God has given us.

This is a great reminder for people everywhere, particularly in positions of leadership! It is easy to maintain a positive attitude when things are going well; the true test of character comes in the difficult times. The attitude of a leader will affect more than their own personal success, but the attitudes of all people they are surrounded by. I have yet to see a pessimistic manager with hopefully determined subordinates.

I totally agree with your analogy cyril. If we are in a bad mood nothing will get accomplished correctly and it will just frustrate us till the point of giving up. But having a good attitude changes all. You feel better about yourself and even if you don't accomplish the intended target you still feel good about yourself. I have experienced this first hand and I can tell you going through life with a good attitude is one of the best things you can do.

To be able to maintain a consistent good attitude can sometimes be a challenging discipline, both in business and in life. But with good attitude, a person often has clearer vision and a stronger sense of determination. This blog is an example of this and how good attitude can pay off.

If you have a good attitude about any situation it will change your perception of the situation. Perception is reality. I have applied this to my work and it is amazing how a change in attitude makes all the difference.

This is a good lesson for us to learn here at Bethany! Even when things seem totally off base we just have to keep our vision in mind.

I remember waiting to interview Andre Agassi early in his career. He was scheduled to meet some autistic kids in SF for a photo op and media session. He wound up blowing off the kids and taking the ferry to Alcatraz. The promoter was embarrassed but Brad Gilbert stepped in an saved the day at the last moment.
Andre has since revealed that he was abused by his 'tennis father' and harbored resentment for the longest time. It was certainly a factor in his boorish behavior. Now, by all accounts, he and his wife Steffi Graf are content and doting parents. His attitude has spun around 180 degrees and he's now very caring when it comes to youth.
Attitude carries a lot of weight, both for the person with the attitude and those who are affected. Stay in the Word and learn how to handle life's pressing problems.

Attitude of Gratitude_ its not about what you are going through- its about what you have been brought through already - and what they collectively will allow you to be taken to. We are so short sighted!

Attitude is the disposition of ones inter-self. If we know deep in our heart that we can do all things through Christ, our belief system, energy and drive will speak of a leader which can bring the vision into reality despite of all obstacles.

When your going through a rough time in your life it's your attitide that determines the outcome of your situation. I can relate to this on so many levels only because God has allowed me to go thru different seasons and processes. My attitude in each circumstance honestly determined the outcome of every situation I have gone thru. I thank God because it was and always is his word that has sustained and kept me so many times.
